Are workshop visits already routine, and is the cost of keeping your car running getting higher? Is it still worth sticking with the same car? It might be time to invest in something new.

In this post, you'll learn to spot a few signs that it's time to trade in your car. Take a look.

1. Mileage

Mileage is a great indicator. If your car has passed 100,000 km, weigh up whether routine workshop visits are still worth it, or whether trading it in makes more sense.

2. Parts condition

Plastic and rubber components have a lifespan of roughly 5 years. After that, they start to wear, which can affect other parts, including how the engine runs.

3. Engine condition

If you're not the type of driver who keeps a close eye on oil, water, and coolant changes, know that over time your engine will feel the effects of overheating. It might not seize completely, but its performance will suffer, and keeping the car going will start costing you.

So should you really trade in your car?

If your car has shown a pattern of overheating, burst hoses, and radiator leaks over the past few years, don't wait for the worst to happen before deciding to trade it in.
